In the Eparchy of St. George in Canton we will celebrate Catechetical Sunday on October 12, 2003. This Sunday is the 18th Sunday after Pentecost in memory of the Fathers at the Seventh Ecumenical Council.

Enclosed you will find materials with art work, prayers and announcements that reflect our Byzantine Catholic heritage, with the theme of "Sowers of God's Peace". Because these materials were done for a different date for Catechetical Sunday than our Eparchy is following, please follow the sequence, but change the dates for the appropriate Sundays, if you use the written announcements: September 7th becomes September 28th, September 14th becomes October 5th, and September 21st becomes October 12th. In the September 7th clip art please change the date from September 21st to October 12th. There is also one set of clip art that does not give a specific date if you want to write your own announcements for Catechetical Sunday.

Please continue to pray that the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be eflectively utilized in our parishes, asking the Holy Spirit to anoint ourclergy, our 'little ones' and their Instructors, to proclaim the Gospel Truth of Nonviolent Love, to friend and foe alike.
